Flowing Waters

The flowing waters pilot project was successfully completed in December 2006. The pilot project "Benchmarking Online Flowing Waters", with 2006 as a year of survey, was continued in 2007. Additional companies are welcome to participate in the project. Please contact us if you are interested.

Project Focus:
Illustration of the "flowing waters" division using commercial and technical parameters.

Project Objectives:
Situation assessment, identification of potential for improvement, preparation of plans of action, transparency of performance of services, in particular for the public (customers), assurance of the degree of performance

Project Participants:
Three water management associations with headquarters in Nordrhein-Westfahlen and which maintain between 250 and 3,000 km of waterways of varying structures participated in this project.

Level of Analysis:
In the Flowing Waters benchmarking project, participants have the option of choosing various levels of data collection: corporate benchmarking of the overall positioning for the area of flowing waters and/or process benchmarking for a detailed comparison of similar water segments (benchmarking objects). The processes to be analysed are divided into partial and subprocesses:

Flowing Waters Process Model

The scope of the project includes all steps according to the recommendation of the DWA, i.e. up and including the drawing up of action plans and the start of the implementation.

Performance Indicator System Used:
Individual development because there was no performance indicator system for this division.
