Water Supply
Methodology:
Partial process systematics developed from 2001 to 2003 for process benchmarking for all corporate activities of water supply companies and testing of the systematics using actual data of two district suppliers from 2001
Building on these systematics, the project was started in cooperation with the IWW, Mülheim in September 2004. The cooperation helps enable inter alia both the application of the International Water Association (IWA) system as well as process benchmarking in the association.
Focus of Project:
The project consists of two components.
Firstly, performance benchmarking is carried out based on the IWA performance indicator system for the entire company or drinking water supply division.
In a further step, process benchmarking is carrid out for the main processes of
- water management
- water extraction
- water treatment
- water transport and storage
- water supply
- metering
- quality control / laboratories
- central technology
- management, central tasks, organization
- personnel and social tasks
- commercial tasks
- customer tasks
The companies are offered two facultative processes. The processes are to be determined by the companies themselves according to their analysis requirements. The analysis of additional processes is optional and will be performed upon request.
Level of Analysis:
Drinking water supply companies as a whole: for companies with several divisions, the drinking water supply division
The scope of the project includes all steps according to the recommendation of the DWA, i.e. up to the derivation of measures.
